BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT ORIENTATION SESSION
May 22, 2008
The meeting was called to order by David Frodroczi at 8:35 a.m. A roll call was made.
Chairperson Malick, David Peterson, and Joe Hurtgen were present. Jerry McAllister and
Sue Nelson were absent and excused. Staff included: Jenny Shillcox, Zoning Specialist;
Dave Frodroczi, Planning and Zoning Director; Pam Quinn, Zoning Specialist; Alex
Blackburn, Zoning Specialist; and Becky Eggen, Recorder.
Staff confirmed to the Board that this was a properly noticed meeting.
The next meeting for the Board is scheduled for Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. in
the County Board Room of the Government Center in Hudson.
New Business
Staff organized an orientation for the new board members. The following items were
handed out and discussed:
• St. Croix County Board of Adjustment Authority, Powers, & Duties
• Zoning Board Handbook
• Board of Adjustment Rules and By -laws
• St. Croix County Zoning Ordinance
The Board recessed at 9:50 a.m.
The Board reconvened at 10:03 a.m.
• Examples of a Special Exception, Variance, Administrative Appeal, Staff
Report, and Decision
• Discussion in regards to the role of St. Croix County's Corporation
Counsel
• Discussion of the importance of all material mailed in the Board Members
Packets monthly
• Zoning Workshop available for Board Members on June 12, 2008 in
Hudson
The Board adjourned at 11:10 a.m.
