RESOURCE AND EDUCATION COMMITTEE
Date: June 10, 1996 Location: Government Center, Hudson
The Resource and Education Committee was called to order at
9:03 a.m. by Chairman Vern Dull. Members present: Dull, Art
Jensen, Chris Bethke, Ron Raymond, and Tom Dorsey. Also present:
Bob Heise from Land Conservation, Debra Kathan from Personnel.
Board Chairman Bob Boche was present for a portion of the meeting.
Moved (Jensen, Raymond) and approved to accept the agenda as
revised. Bob Heise requested action from the committee regarding
a four -lot minor sub -division in Kinnickinnic Township. Heise
noted that the developer had implemented plans for an erosion
control plan by Stevens Engineering and would be posting a bond to
assure compliance with the plan. Moved (Jensen, Bethke) and
approved to accept the sub -division plans as modified with the
erosion control plan.
The Committee reviewed the job descriptions prepared by the
Planning Department for the positions of Recycling/Solid Waste
Coordinator and Recycling Specialist. After a line -by-line review
of job duties and responsibilities, the Committee developed a job
description that they authorized the Personnel Director to draft
and distribute. The Committee indicated their interest in reducing
the job size to one position and eliminating the emphasis on
administrative or management tasks. Art Jensen was excused at
10:15 to attend a funeral.
The Committee set a July 2 meeting date to finalize the job
description and determine staffing needs. The Personnel Director
was instructed to meet with the Director of Planning prior to the
next Committee meeting to review the job description and Committee
concerns. Moved (Bethke, Raymond) and approved to adjourn at 10:30
a.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Debra Kathan
Acting Secretary
