ROLL CALL: Members present were Larry Weisenburger, Herb Giese, Phil Hammer, Jerome Neumann, Lee Kellaher, Andy Germain, Clarence Malick, and Myrtle Munns . Roberta Moe, Mary Lou Smith and Delores Loock were excused. Also present were Cindy Icard, Sandy Gehrmann, Barb Blaisdell, Jonna Fedie, Elma Liberty, Carol Gorke, Donna Zacharias, Sherry Crosby, Jean VandeBerg, Lorraine Jacobs, Peggy Patterson and Kathryn Grootenhuis . ADOPTION OF AGENDA: A motion was made by Clarence Malick and seconded by Larry Weisenburger to adopt the agenda; motion carried. DATE OF NEXT MEETING: The next meeting will be March 21, 1996 ACTION ON PREVIOUS M NUTES: A motion was made by Herb Giese and seconded by Andy Germain to accept November minutes as printed. UNFIlVISHED BUSINESS: 1996 Budget: The 1996 Budget is still unknown. III B and III D Programs will be funded until March 15th. III F will not be funded. Nutrition Program will be funded until September and the Benefit Specialist Program and Vehicle Transportation will go until the end of the year. The Reauthorization of the Older American's Act was discussed. Reauthorization is on hold until after the election. NAPIS ReDorting System: The Intake Forms need more o—� information on them. A new card form was distributed. Block grants will be done state by state. The entire emphasis will be done by managed care. NEW BUSINESS: Fundraiser Suggestions: Ideas were discussed. We need sixty to seventy recipes for cookbook before the end of March. Myrtle Munns will look into Reminisce Magazine fundraisers. Lorraine Jacobs will research the Current, Inc. products. Einer Horne gave Sandy some information on a Customer Coupon project. The New Richmond Center will look into it. Myrtle Munns presented T- Shirts by Human-i-Tees that would be 10.00 for children and 12.00 for adults. Orders would need to be sent in by April 8th. A motion was made Lee Kellaher and seconded by Andy Germain to pursue the T- Shirts fundraiser. Motion carried. Staff Reports: Dan Dixon of CCH proposed an increase in catered meals to $3.25 per meal. The Council decided to accept the CCH proposal on a temporary basis until '96 funding is known. Gayle Sullwold contacted the Department on Aging regarding the Hog & Chicken Calling Contest for the ' 96 County Fair. Barb Blaisdell proposed that each Senior Center Board have one person volunteer to help. Discussion followed. A motion was made by Phil Hammer and seconded by Jerry Neumann to drop the Hog & Chicken Calling Contest if the Center Boards would give no support; motion carried. Personnel in the Government Center will receive new telephone numbers in. Bruce Brantner thought we could keep our (800) number. Carol Keller and Lola Fouks will go to Madison for the Senior Statesmanship Program in June. The 1994 and 1995 statistics and donations were discussed. The Volunteer Appreciation Day will be April 30th at Garfields . The Senior Citizen Day is scheduled for May 30th at WITC . A letter was read from Russell Schultz requesting unpaid leave of absence. A motion was made by Jerry Neumann and seconded by Larry Weisenburger to approve the unpaid leave. The Department on Aging received two petitions. One was regarding Deer Park Nutrition Site cooking meals for New Richmond and the other was driving the Baldwin van to Hudson. SITEXENTER REPORTS: DEER PARK: Had a Valentine Party. Deer Park is cooking meals for New Richmond and Somerset Nutrition Sites. It is going well. GLENWOOD CITY: Play Bingo every Wednesday. Had a Valentine Party. BALDWIN.- Had a Valentine Party with forty-four in attendance. A Police Officer will do a presentation. Started a walking program. HUDSON: Clarence Malick has started a speakers forum every Tuesday. Sent letters out to possible volunteer candidates. Crowned a Queen and King at the Valentine Party. Showing a video every Monday. NEW RICIIMOND: The consolidation is going well. The volunteers have been great. Had "Inside Out" and "Red and White" day. A couch was donated to the center. Exercise Program will start March 4th. SOMERSET: Playing cards every day. On Monday a 4th grad class made table decorations. Exercise on Thursdays. A piano was donated to the center by George Sinclear. Planning a Beach Party. WOODVILLE: The center board bought some carpeting and furnishings. , Plans are being made for the Spring Card Tournament. Had entertainment at the Valentine Party. Volunteers will do a Heart Association mailing. County Library will do presentation in March. A motion was made by Herb Giese and seconded by Andy Germain to adjourn meeting at 11: 00 a.m.; motion carried.
