Present: Cassellius, Irwin, Knutson, McLaughlin, Plourde, Woll
Absent: Bieraugel
Others: Bob Boche, Sonya Carlson, Maureen Farrell, Barb Ickler,
John Krizek, and Sandy Venhor.
The meeting was called to order by Vice President Irwin. Irwin
questioned the revised agenda and ruled to strike the first item
and proceed with the original agenda. Motion by Woll, seconded by
Knutson, to adopt the agenda under protest. Motion carried.
Irwin asked that Bieraugel and Irwin°s names appear as dissenters
to the computer proposal request at the August 1, 1996 meeting.
Motion by McLaughlin, seconded by Plourde, to add roll call vote to
computer proposal. Motion by Woll, seconded by McLaughlin to
accept the minutes of the August 1, 1996, meeting as changed.
Motion carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
County Library Levy: The Board reviewed resolutions adopted by the
Town of Hudson and the Village of North Hudson to exempt themselves
from the County Library levy in 1997, The Board discussed these
resolutions at length, including budget, legal, and service
implications on county -wide library services.
St. Croix County Library Budget: The Board reviewed the 1997
budget. request, particularly in the areas of Instructional Aids
(3 4 8 ) and New Equipment (813).
Motion by Woll, seconded by McLaughlin to adopt the $66,250
increase in Instructional Aids per recommendation of the 1995
Library Study Committee as step one to equalize funding. Motion
carried five to one with Irwin dissenting.
Motion by Woll, seconded by Cassellius to adopt the LAN (Local
Area Network) option for New Equipment. Motion carried,
Motion by Woll, seconded by McLaughlin to accept the budget as
presented. Motion carried five to one with Irwin dissenting.
Motion by Woll, seconded by Cassellius to adjourn. Meeting
adjourned at 11:19 A.M.
