August 21, 1996
MEMBERS PRESENT: William Krueger, Herb Giese, Chuck Mehls, Jack
Dowd and Bob Gunderson.
STAFF PRESENT: Child Support Administrator Lynn Holmes, Sheriff
Paul Burch, Chief Deputy Max Ihrke, Chief Jailer Karen Humphrey,
Chief Patrol Officer Roland Thompson, District Attorney Eric
Johnson, Victim Witness Coordinator Ann Gustafson, Office Manager
Deborah Staberg and Renee Carufel.
Motion to approve the agenda as published by Giese/Dowd. Carried.
Motion to approve the minutes of August 7th by Dowd/Mehls. Carried.
Date of next meeting Sept. 6th at 9:00 a.m.
BUDGETS: Medical Examiner's budget was reviewed. Motion by
Mehls/Gunderson to approve the Medical Examiner's budget of
$52,119. Carried.
Sheriff's Budget: Reviewed. The Committee commented on the fine
job of presenting this budget. Motion by Giese/Dowd to approve the
1997 budget of $2,042,217. Carried.
Jail: This budget is for 95 average daily inmates. The total
expenditures presented were $1,796,869. Projected revenue for 97
should be $1,163,300. Motion by Mehls/Dowd to approve this budget.
Carried.
District Attorney: Reviewed. The biggest item is the new copy
machine for $9644. Discussion was held on how costly the old copier
has become. Dowd/Giese moved to adopt this budget of $252,454.
Carried.
Victim Witness: Total amount of the budget is $64,720 which is
about 75o reimbursed by the State. Motion by Dowd/Giese to adopt
this budget. Carried.
Child Support: Lynn Holmes reported on all the line item
increases. 1997 estimated child support revenue is $406,105.
Committee agrees to allow Holmes to purchase three file cabinets
with the money left over from the 1996 copy machine line item.
Total budget is $329,475. Motion by Dowd/Giese to approve this
total. Carried.
Move to adjourn at 11:25 by Giese/Dowd. Carried.
