PRESENT: Ron Lockwood, Social Work Supervisor
Meeting was called to order at 12:30pm by Chair Ray Mealey. Roll Call was taken
showing a quorum present.
Motion made to accept minutes from previous meeting as written by Lee Kellaher,
second by John Mortensen; carried.
Date and Location of Next Meeting:
Thursday, November 13, 1997 at 1:30pm at the Human Services Complex in New
Richmond.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Ron Lockwood reported that the County Finance Committee had apparently approved
the Health & Human Services Department 1998 budget for recommendation to the full
County Board. John Borup explained that there was some concern about where the
money would come from to support serving persons from the waiting list in 1999 and
thereafter. It was also reported that the overall county allocation to Health & Human
Services would be frozen through 1998.
NEW BUSINESS:
Financial Report: None.
Variance & Purchase Requests: None
Report on Statewide LTC Advisory Committee: Chair Ray Mealey stated that the
state Department of Health & Family Services is committed to LTC Redesign regardless
of the setbacks and obstacles.
Aging Unit Report: Results of the Silent Auction and Dinner were reported.

Sandy Gehrmann reported that the Coalition of Wisconsin Aging Groups (CWAG)
received a grant to stop Medicaid & Medicare fraud. The Aging Dept is looking for
retired professionals who would volunteer to work with the County Benefit Specialist
and Sandy Gehrmann to implement the anti -fraud program in St. Croix County.
Motion to adjourn meeting by Keith Gregerson; second by James Craig to adjourn to
Community Meeting on Long Term Care Redesign; carried.
