The property in question is at 614 Old Mill Road in Burkhardt. It's an old four - bedroom house built in about 1910 that had a new septic system put in in 2002. I understand that the size of a septic system is dictated by the number of bedrooms in a house. At one time, our preliminary plans called for adding a fifth bedroom. The addition would have added to the square footage of the house (which is now at 1800 feet and would have been 2600 feet after the addition. I assume Mr. Homme would have been asking those kinds of questions. He may indeed have had a meeting with you to discuss these questions. Or perhaps it was a phone call or an "at the counter" question, but his bill is claiming a one -hour meeting. (He is also claiming a one- hour and a three -hour meeting with the Town of St. Joseph building inspector, and we now know for sure that those meetings never occurred.) I can't think of much else to tell you to jog your memory. Mr. Homme is about 50 or 55 years old, is from across the river in Afton, and is soft - spoken and polite. Thank you again for your help. If it is more convenient for you to call, my work number is 651-290 - 6380 but I am hardly ever at my desk. Our home number is 715- 386 -2719. My wife, Bethann, is usually home (we adopted three small kids from Russia last summer). She knows all about the issues and so you could talk with her if you come up with any information.
