Agriculture and Extension Committee
March 2, 2010
Agricultural Service and Education Center Convened: 9 a.m.
Baldwin, WI
Present: Gene Ruetz, Bill Peavey, Linda Luckey, Richard Marzolf, Dan Raebel, Pete Kling, Joan
Sprain, Marie Witzel, Ruth Hilfiker, Martha Mabis, Mary Lestrud, and Deb Jones
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ruetz.
Marzolf made a motion to approve the agenda. Peavey seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Date of next meeting was set for April 6.
Peavey moved that the previous meeting's minutes be approved.
Luckey seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Peavey moved for approval of the vouchers for $3,296.32. Second by Ruetz. Motion carried.
There was discussion of the agricultural agent position description. The job description could
emphasize controlling pollution in watersheds and the St. Croix River. This may be too specific
for the job description but could be included the interview process. These issues will be
addressed by the agricultural agent utilizing partnerships with other agencies and groups.
Some modifications were made. Jones will finalize and post on March 12. The closing will be
mid - April. The May committee meeting will be the time to get the final list for the ag extension
committee members to interview.
The invitation to the March 16 listening and discussion session was shared. Committee members
were invited to WACEC on April 16 in Eau Claire.
