Community Development staff have reviewed the application to install rock uptake as shoreland protection
with the St Croix County Lower St Croix Rwerway and Hootlplain Ovetlay District The request has been
conditionally approved based on the application submission and the following findings
• A complete application was submitted on August 31, 2020
• Frank nprap is ato prevent additional erasion in Oood-prdie areas, within a slope
preservation zone andwry in the Ordinary High Water Mark setback.
• The nprap will be installed above the Ordinary High Warn Mark (6W 9) and aVbeive the Regional
Flood Elevation for the St Croix River(692 O) The rock nprap will be approximately lW and will
align with neighboring properties with existing nprap
• hmnd vegetation removal will be included for the installation of rip rap on the shoreline Exact
tyres will be discussed as a pan of a pre construction meeting condition
• Fill or deposition of materials is allowed by a land use permit within the Floodway, Dernd
Eased! on these findings, approval of the Land Use Permit is subject to the following conditions'
1 No material may be deposited in the navigable channel within a WI DNR permit The materials shall be
protected against erosion by nprap and vegetative cover and will not be claseifid as sold or hazardous
waste material
2 A copy of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and US Army Corp of Engineers Permit for
nprap along the shoreline shall be submitted
