Community Development staff have reviewed the Land Use Permit application for the replacement
of a Private Onstre Wastewater Treatment System (POWTS) on slopes greater than 25%within the
Lower St Croix Riverway District The request has been conditionally approved based onthe
application submission and the following findings
• The conditionally permitted POWTS replacement is proposed in the Town of St Joseph within the
Lower St Croix Riverway, District on slopes greater than 25%
• The proposed replacement conventional system consists of two 540-gallon septic tanks and two
3x65-foot trenches The Infiltrative surface of each trench will be 1-2 feet below grade
• The proposed POWTS meets the setbacks to the property Imes, nearby structures, and the ordinary
high-water mark (OH W M) of the St Croix River.
• Erosion and sediment control plans have been submitted and meet Wisconsin Department of
Natural Resources Technical Standards Best management practices will be incorporated
• A state sanitary application was submitted on September 2, 2020 and is pending approval
Based on these findings, approval of the land Use Permit is subject to the following conditions
1 Prior to Construction, erosion control measures, such as sit fencing and trio logs must be installed
prior to all land disturbance activity
2. All disturbed areas must be seeded and covered with erosion control matting immediately
following the installation of the FOWLS
3 St Croix County reserves the right to require additional sediment and erosion control measures to
be installed if found necessary due to site -specific concerns and will be documented in an as -built
site plan
4 All temporary erosion control measures shall be left in place and maintained until the site has reached
a Point of at least]0% permanent vegetation. Permanent vegetation shall be established orke final
grade is reached or as soon as applicable per plan

5 An inspection is required prior to removing any temporary sediment and erosion control measures
to verify, proper vegetation cover has been established Please call me at (715) 31 to

6 This permit is only valid for the work required to replace the exisfing POW6 Anyotherwork
Portended, which Is unrelated to Me proposed POINTS will lead to the revocation of this permit by
the Zoning Administrator
7 Any trees removed during the Installation of the POINTS shall be replaced in accordance with the
Lower St. Croix Riverway District area replacement schedule pursuant to Chapter 17.31
8 It is the applicants responsibility to secure any other required local, state or federal permits) and

9 Failure to comply with the terms or conditions above may result in the revocation of this permit by
the Zoning Administrator pursuant to Chapter 15 555 and Chapter 17 3618 b
