ROM�w UNTY RESOLUTION FOR LIBRARY EXEMPTIONS 1 WHEREAS, municipalities are responsible for requesting an exemption from the County 2 library tax on an annual basis pursuant to Wis. Stat. 43.64(2); and 3 4 WHEREAS, under Wis. Stat. 43.64(2), municipalities with public libraries may be 5 exempt from the County library tax if they appropriate locally an amount above the defined 6 minimum; and 7 8 WHEREAS, if a municipality qualified for an exemption based on the calculation in 9 Wis. Stat. 43.64(2), the municipality must make written application to the County Board of the 10 County, for approval of the exemption; and 11 12 WHEREAS, the following municipalities have approved resolutions certifying they meet 13 the exemption calculation: 14 15 Village of Baldwin 16 Village of Deer Park 17 Village of Hammond 18 Village of Roberts 19 Village of Somerset 20 Village of Spring Valley 21 Village of Woodville 22 City of New Richmond 23 City of River Falls 24 City of Glenwood City 25 Town of Hudson 26 Town of St. Joseph 27 Village of North Hudson 28 City of Hudson 29 30 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of 31 Supervisors that the above municipalities are exempt from the 2020 County library tax levy. Legal—Fiscal—Administrative Approvals: Legal Note: Fiscal Impact: Per State law, they are eligibile for an exemption that limits the distribution of the library tax levy. No fiscal impact on the County.
