Assessment
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Six broadband bids were received. Based on the range of bids in the finalist group, $80,000 will
cover the broadband assessment project. The two finalist proposals are being interviewed
before the end of March. A final recommendation is anticipated by the April 6th County Board
meeting.

RESOLUTION APPROVING $80,000 OF CONTINGENCY FUND FOR

WHEREAS, St. Croix County was part of the WEDC Broadband Connectors Pilot
program; and
WHEREAS, a Broadband Assessment of the County was a logical next step for St. Croix
County to take based on the results of the Broadband Connectors Pilot program; and
WHEREAS, a Broadband Assessment was not contemplated or budgeted for in 2021;
and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County Board of Supervisor does budget for contingency projects
that come up unexpectedly each year; and
WHEREAS, six Broadband Proposals were received and reviewed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of
Supervisors authorizes up to $80,000 of the 2021 contingency funds for a Broadband
Assessment.

Fiscal Impact: $100,000 is budgeted for contingency projects. This resolution uses 80% of the
budget.
