CALL TO ORDER: The meeting .was called to order at
9:05 a.m. by Chairman, Herb Giese.
ROLL CALL: Members present were Herb Giese,
Ralph Bader, Roberta Moe, Delores Loock, Ethel
Peterson, Irene Inlow, John Mortensen, and Andy
Germain. Mary Lou Smith, Lee Kellaher, and Larry
Weisenburger were excused. Also present were Cindy
[card, Jonna Fedie, Barb Blaisdell, Virginia Peterson,
Shirley Marlette, Lorraine Jacobs, Elma Liberty, Janice
Thompson, Peggy Patterson, and Bonnie Brande.
ADOPTION OF AGENDA: A motion was made by
John Mortensen and seconded by Andy Germain to adopt
the agenda; motion carried.

to approve the February 20th minutes as printed; motion
carried.
At the State level there are
twenty-eight (28) models of the Long Term Care
Redesign being reviewed. The Governor will look over
the models by the end of March. A public hearing is
being scheduled for April. A motion was made by John
Mortensen and seconded by Ethel Peterson that Sandy
Gehrmann and Barb Blaisdell attend the May 13th Human
Service Board Meeting to hear the LTCR presentation;
motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS:
New Vehicle Bid: The new Human Service Vehicle
specifications for Wisconsin should be determined in
May. The new vehicle bid will therefore be delayed until
August. The vehicle will go out to the
Baldwin/Hammond route. Funds will be from the
Vehicle Trust Account.
Video was shown and discussion followed.
Shannon DeWulf: Ms . DeWulf did a presentation on the
new Alzheimer's Unit at the American Heritage Care
Center located in Hammond.
Staff Retorts:
The Volunteer Recognition will be April 17th at
Garfields. The Nutrition Sites will be closed. The Site
Supervisors need to call the homebound in their area to
let them know to use their Heater Meals or send out two
meals the day before the Banquet.
A volunteer driver received a $15.00 parking ticket at the
Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul. The ticket was not paid by
the County. An explanation was given why the ticket was
received. Individual Council members decided to
contribute.
Three liquid supplements are needed to equal one on
USDA Report.
A change has been made in the Home -Delivered Meal
Program. Site Supervisors are to call the new Home -
Delivered Meal Participants to do the Intake form over
the telephone before the first meal goes out. Site
Supervisors have the authority to put regular Congregate
Participants on homebound status for one week and are to
notify the office when they do so. A new Breakfast
Program was discussed. Site Supervisors should contact
their Home -Delivered Meal Participants and notify the
Office within a week.
The Older Americans Act has been introduced in the
Senate.
A grant in the amount of $540.00 was received from the
Reynolds _ Metal Company through INAMP.

DEER PARK: Participants went to a musical in New
Richmond. The new Green Thumb worker has started.
GLENWOOD CITY: Participants enjoy playing Bingo.
Glenhaven residents coming to site to eat next week.
Working on inventory and card tournament. Participation
at the site is going up, Went to the Boyceville Nutrition
Site for lunch on Friday.
BALDWIN: The St. Patrick's Dance and Potluck
Supper, that was March 14th, raised over $900.00 for the
new Community C enter .
HUDSON: Bonnie Brande went to the Croixview
apartment building and served coffee and cookies to
promote the Hudson Nutrition Site. A shopping trip to
River Falls and a puppet show has been scheduled.
Martha Mabis is coming next month to do a presentation.
NEW RICHMOND: Participants are playing cards and
Bingo. The count is going up,
SOMERSET: The Center will be painted and new
windows will be put in. Count is going up. A participant
donated a new microwave. The Center received $10.00
for a cake raffle on St. Patricks Day.
WOODVILLE: Participants are exercising. The Happy
Grannies and Martha Mabis are scheduled in April.
Participants did SCAN labels.
A motion was made by Andy Germain and seconded by
John Mortensen to adjourn meeting at 10: 55 a. m. ; motion
carried.
