GOVERNMENT CENTER
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at
9:00 a.m. by Chairman, Herb Giese.
ROLL CALL: Members present were Herb Giese, Phil
Hammer, Roberta Moe, Andy Germain, Larry
Weisenburger, Lee Kellaher, and Irene Inlow. Mary Lou
Smith was excused and John Mortensen was absent.
Also present were Sandy Gehrmann, Cindy Icard, Jonna
Fedie, Barb Blaisdell, Shirley Marlette, Janice Thompson,
Elma Liberty, Jean Schroeder, Jennifer Ninneman, Ethel
Peterson, Cathy Mesch, Betty Evans, Ann Healy, Gladys
Ellefson, Donna Zacharias, Lorraine Jacobs, Joanne
Matysik, and Bonnie Brande.
ADOPTION OF AGENDA: A motion was made by Lee
Kellaher and seconded by Andy Germain to adopt the
agenda; motion carried

A motion was made by Lee Kellaher and seconded by
Larry Weisenburger that the St. Croix County Department
on Aging maintain its current structure with its emphasis
on Information and Referral for the pilot and Long Term
Care Redesign; motion carried.
Introductions were made .
1998 County Plan/Services: A survey was filled out by
the participants of St. Croix County regarding III B
services. The survey established that the participants
want the same programs that are now being offered. The
Block Grant was discussed.
SAM's Club: A motion was made by Larry
Weisenburger and seconded by Andy Germain that the
Department on Aging get a membership to SAM's Club
and pay the $25.00 membership fee; motion carri aed. The
Senior Centers will discuss the membership at the their
August meetings.

Staff Reports:
The Leadership Training, 1998 County Plan, and the
85.21 Public Hearing will be October 2nd from 1:30 -
4 : 30 p.m. Jim Janke will do the opening address.
The Quarterly Reports were discussed.
The YMCA Newsletter was distributed.
ECHO report was given by Barb Blaisdell.

DEER PARK: Participants are going to Red Wing next
week. The Luau will be in August. Working on Fair
project and the brochure.
GLENWOOD CITY: Bingo is going well. The Salad
Luncheon will be August 8th. Had a White Elephant
Sale. The site is getting a new freezer. Participation is
going up. The stamping demonstration will be the end of
the month.
BALDWIN: Participants are enjoying the new
Site/Center. A Dutch Ethenic Breakfest is scheduled on
August 3rd at the site,
HUDSON: Participants had a picnic at the State Park,
playing Bridge, and working on County Fair display.
The Strums came to perform.
NEW RICHMOND: Working on County Fair display,
raffle, Baby Picture Contest, and a trip to Stillwater.
Participants enjoyed the boat trip. The brat stand will
start tomorrow. A Garage Sale is being scheduled for
August.
SOMERSET: The Koffee Klutch is still going well.
WOODVILLE: Had a Father's Day Party. Recreation
trips are being planned. Participants enjoying videos.
The new site supervisor is Gladys Ellefson.
A motion was made by Andy Germain and seconded by
Larry Weisenburger to adjourn meeting at 11:35 a.m.;
motion carried.
