CALL TO ORDER: Chairman, Herb Giese, called the
meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

ADOPTION OF AGENDA: A motion was made by
Phil Hammer and seconded by John Mortensen to adopt
the agenda; motion carried.

made by Larry Weisenburger and seconded by Andy
Germain to approve the October minutes, as printed,
with the correction of Shoney's spelling; motion carried.

in: Nothing new to report.
Medicare/MA Fraud/Abuse : Handouts were distributed
last month. Sue Kramer and Sandy Gehrmann did a
presentation. There was a question and answer session.
St. Croix County has some good people willing to
volunteer.
Newsletter W orksheet Results : The evaluation results
on SCAN were given. Response was outstanding.
Discussion centered on ways to improve the newsletter.
NEW BUSI��TESS:
Internet: A motion was made by Larry Weisenburger
and seconded by Andy Germain to allocate $300.00 a
year to hook up to the Internet in Sue Kramer's Office;
motion carried.
Malnutrition Crisis : Physical Limitation Among Older
Adults Living in the Community and Malnutrition In
Older Americans handouts were distributed. The
importance of the Nutrition Program was discussed.

The Area Agency on Aging is reorganizing its

She explained that the St. Croix County Department on
Aging has an outstanding staff and the programs are run
well.
Staff Reports:
St. Croix County will receive more than a 50 % increase
in the Benefit Specialist Program for 1998.
St. Croix County Department on Aging Information and
Referral brochure was discussed. Jean Schroeder made
a motion seconded by John Mortensen to call the new
brochure Senior Info-lme and to order 5,000 to MOW
depending on price; motion carried.
November is Alzheimer's month and Gail Casey is the
Program Coordinator. Faith In Action has applied for a
grant to help participants who have dementia.
DEER PA,�tK: There will be a Fall Quilt Raffle . An
evening meal was held to honor Veterans. A Stillwater
trip is being planned. The Happy Grannies performed.
GLENWOOD CITY: BINGO is going well. The
Center Board is working on recruiting a new
representative. Thanksgiving and Christmas Parties are
being planned.
BALDWIN: The Happy Grannies performed. On
November 11 ', participants went to the Woodville
Anniversary Party. The Thanksgiving Dinner will be
next Tuesday.
IiLJDSON: Had the monthly Birthday Party. The
computer has arrived and trainings are scheduled. A
Christmas party and light trip are being planned. The
Center Board had a Thank -You Dinner.
NEW RICHMOND: The 20-year Anniversary Party
was held on November 17th. Light and shopping trips
are being planned.
SOMERSET: The Center Board had an Appreciation
Dinner.
WOODVILLE: Cards and BINGO are being played.
The Senior Center was painted. The Anniversary Party
went well.
A motion was made by Larry Weisenburger and
seconded by Andy Germain to approve all December
trips;o
motion carried. --
A motion was made by Andy Germain and seconded by
John Mortensen to adjourn meeting at 11:10 a.m.;
motion carried.
