ROLL CALL: Members present were Larry Weisenburger, Emma Joyce, Myrtle Munns, Lee Kellaher, Clarence Malick, Herb Giese, Andy Germain, Jerry Neumann, Roberta Moe, and Ralph Bader. Delores Loock was excused. Also present were Donna Zacharias, Cindy Icard, Sandy Gehrmann, Barb Blaisdell, Elma Liberty, Carol Gorke, Janice Thompson, Sherry Crosby, Peggy Patterson, Helen Hagen and Sue Kramer. A motion was made and seconded to adopt the agenda; motion carried. : A motion was made and seconded to accept minutes as printed; motion carried. Legislative Update: Lee Kellaher read "Resolution to Maintain the Integrity of the Older Americans Act". A motion was made by Lee Kellaher and seconded by Andy Germain to present the Resolution to the St. Croix County Board; motion carried. Discussion followed. A Public Hearing on the Governor's Budget is scheduled at U. W . R. F. Rodley Commons on March 30, 1995, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Grant Reports: Adult Group Respite video shown. "DayAway" handouts distributed and discussed. A motion was made by Larry Weisenburger and seconded by Andy Germain to have the Department on Aging apply for "Faith in Action Grant" ; motion carried. �W BUSINESS: Governor's Mini -Conference on Aging: Positive reports were given by Larry Weisenburger and Clarence Malick regarding the Governor's Conference on Aging held on March 7th in Madison. Volunteer Recognition: The Volunteer Recognition will be held at Garfield's Valley House on Thursday, April 27th. Registration will be from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. with lunch at noon. Active Older Adult Health and Fitness Dav: The day will be Co -sponsored with the St. Croix Valley YMCA in Hudson. It will be held Wednesday, May. 31 st from 2: 00 p . m . - 7 : 00 p . m . Volunteers are needed. Many activities are planned. The Centers will use their vans to bring participants . Committee Reports: Personnel: Director's evaluation was completed. Transportation: Lee Kellaher made a motion to purchase a 1989 15-passenger Dodge Maxi -Van for $3500. Motion was seconded by Jerry Neumann; motion carried. Not looking at purchasing a new van at this time. Operations: Planning a booklet for survivors. STAFF REPORTS: A motion was made by Clarence Malick and seconded by Herb Giese to approve an unpaid leave of absence for Sharon Smith; motion carried. On Thursday, May 4th, a bus has been reserved to go to "Senior Conference and Expo '95" in Red wing, Minnesota. The cost is $20/person plus donation for bus. International festival in River Falls will be Apri125th. A motion was made by Clarence Malick and seconded by Ralph Bader to approve centers to use vans to go; motion carried. A bus has been reserved to go to Fanny Hill on August 23rd to see the Lovely Liebowitz Sisters A motion was made by Andy Germain and seconded by Larry Weisenburger that the Council on Aging organize the Hog & Chicken Calling Contest at the ' 95 County Fair; motion carried. The donations will be put in trust. 'The Drug &Alcohol Testing Program is only for those who have CDL. A motion was made by Clarence Malick and seconded by Andy Germain to have Barb Blaisdell send a letter of support to the Federal Transit Administration to keep volunteers out of testing program if they do not have a CDL; motion carried. DEER PARK: The Center purchased a used exercise bike and popcorn machine. Bookrack available because of memorial money. GLENWOOD CITY: Roberta . Moe made Holiday arts and crafts . Started recycling cards. Received $600.00 donation. Will have dinner meal on April 20. BALDWIN: Everyone enjoyed hat show. Card sales are going well. Will sell cards at the '95 County Fair. The site has new van driver. HLTDSON: Had a St. Pats/Birthday Party. Received $2500 from City for rent and phone costs. NEW RICHMOND. Had a St. Pats Party with a King & Queen in the St. Pats Parade. Planning a Bake sale in April. SOMERSEE: A. A. R. P. was there for two days helping with taxes. WOODVILLE: Planning card party. New participants are coming to the Nutrition Site. Had a Valentine Party. A motion was made by Emma Joyce and seconded by Andy Germain to adj ourn meeting at 11: 55 a . m . ; motion carried.
