CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at
9 9.30 a.m. by Chairman, Myrtle Munns .
ROLL CALL: Members present were Larry
Weisenburger, Myrtle Munns, Lee Kellaher, Clarence
Malick, Herb Giese, Andy Germain, Jerry Neumann,
Roberta Moe, Delores Loock, Phil Hammer and Emma
Joyce. Also present were Cindy Icard, Sandy Gehrmann,
Barb Blaisdell, Jonna Pedie, Elma Liberty, Carol Gorke,
Janice Thompson, Sherry Crosby, Peggy Patterson, Helen
Hagen and Donna Zacharias.
A1�VY'1'lUN OF AGENDA: A motion was made by
Delores Loock and seconded by Herb Giese to adopt the
agenda; motion carried.
ACTION ON PREVIOUS ES: A motion was
made by Lee Kellaher and seconded by Andy Germain to
accept minutes as printed; motion carried.

Auureciation Dinner: The Appreciation Dinner was held
on April 27th at Gariields Valley House with 162 in
attendance. The feedback was excellent.
Red Win Exuo: The Red Wing Expo was held on May
4th.
Volunteer Meals: The Operations Committee proposed
a statement to be put up at the Nutrition Sites that reads:
"Nutrition volunteers under age 60 who work at least two
hours per day are invited to contribute toward the cost of
the meal. Others under age 60 must pay in full" .
Discussion to add "All" in last sentence which now reads:
All others under age 60 must pay in full. A motion was
made by Andy Germain and seconded by Larry
Weisenburger to approve the statement as corrected:
motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
Appointment of Nominating Committee: Myrtle Munns
appointed Robert Moe and Larry Weisenburger to
Nominating Committee.
Health/Human e Service Department Request: Public
Health and the Nursing Home will have a table for
display in our building at the 1995 County Fair.
White House Conference on Aging: The White -House
Conference on Aging was held the first week of May in
Washington D.C. Handouts were distributed. The five
Priority Resolutions that were agreed upon were:
Keeping Social Security Sound. Now and for the Future;
Preserving the Integrity of the Older Americans Act;
Preserving the Nature of Medicaid; Ensuring the future of
the Medicare Program; Preserving Advocacy functions
under the Older Americans Act. The Priority Goals for
Aging Services are. Access to services in local
communities; Support independent living 'through home
and community -based care; Meet the nutritional needs of
older adults; Protect the basic rights of the most
vulnerable elderly.
Older Americans' Act Review: The Older Americans'
Act titles were discussed and explained.
Myrtle Munns will be on the Advisory Board of the River
Falls Clinic.
Committee Retorts:
Personnel: The Volunteer Job Description for the
DayAway Club was completed.
Transportation: Discussed the time study, survey, route
slips and the grant process.
Operations: Discussed the Upcoming YMCA
Health/Fitness Day and the Volunteer Meal Statement.
Staff Retorts
Maps and guides for the YMCA Health and Fitness day
were distributed. A regular day pass costs $8.50.
The County Fair will be July 20-23.
Senior Center Brochures were distributed to go out to the
Centers and community businesses.
On May 25th from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., a Volunteer
DayAway training is scheduled.
The Woodville Senior Center won the Spring Card
Tournament again. 144 participants took part in
tournament.
The Van Drivers are doing a time study for two days.
Personal attendents no longer have to pay for the Shared
Ride Taxi program.
DEER PARK: Discussed exercise equipment. The van
will bring participants to YMCA Health & Fitness Day.
The Center will pay for van trips. On Tuesday there will
be an evening meal. Senator Alice Clausing was at the
Center last Friday. Made corsages for Mothers Day.
GLENWOOD CITY: An evening meal is scheduled for
May 25th. Had 40 people at last evening meal. Will be
taking a participants to the YMCA Health & Fitness Day.
Made corsages for Mothers Day. Celebrated May Day
and Peace Day.
BALDWIN: The village may be building a new
Community Building. The card tournament went well.
Senator Alice Clausing will be at the Center on Monday.
Participants are back from the south.
HUDSON: The Volunteers enjoyed the Appreciation
Dinner. Participants will be going the YMCA Health and
Fitness Day. Discussed Pepper Fest. Celebrated May
Day. The Site has a new driver.
NEW RICHMOND: The center will do a brat & pop
fundraiser at More4. A motion was made by Emma
Joyce and seconded by Larry Weisenburger to allow the
Center to use the Nutrition Site roaster to keep the brats
and hot dogs warm. Motion carried. A card party is
being planned for June 2nd.
SOMERSET: The card party was attended by 85. The
Center Volunteer Dinner will be May 25th. Celebrated
Peace Day. Having Birthday Parties.
WOODVILLE.* Had Blood Pressure Screening.
Working on United Way Application. Tuesdays there is
BINGO and Wednesdays cards. Working on ways to
increase meal donations. Cleaning highway next week.
Yesterday a chiropractor did a presentation.
A motion was made by I.,arry Weisenburger and seconded
by Andy Germain to adjourn meeting at 11: 25 a . m .
motion carried.
