ROLL CALL: Members present were Larry Weisenburger, Herb Giese, Phil Hammer, Jerome Neumann, Delores Loock, Lee Kellaher, Andy Germain, Clarence Malick, Mary Lou Smith, Myrtle Munns, and Roberta Moe. Also present were Ralph Bader, Cindy [card, Sandy Gehrmann, Barb Blaisdell, Jonna Fedie, Elma Liberty, Carol Gorke, Janice Thompson, Donna Zacharias, Sherry Crosby, Jean VandeBerg, and Peggy Patterson., ADUPTiON OF AGENDA: A motion was made by Herb Giese and seconded by Andy Germain to adopt the agenda; motion carried, DATE OF NEXT MEETING: The next meeting will be Wednesday, December 20, 1995. At;'1'lUN UN PREVIOUS ES: A motion was made by Larry Weisenburger and seconded by Andy Germain to accept September and October minutes as printed; motion carried, ulvr.uvian�L �suau��aa: 1996 Budget: The Finance Committee approved the Non -Lapsing account. The Older Americans Act has not yet been reauthorized. The 1995 Notification of Grant Award was distributed and there will be no carryover. Catered Meals: A sample menu from Best Food Corp. was distributed for catering meals for Somerset and New Richmond. The proposal states meals Monday through Thursday would be $2.95 per meal and Monday through Friday $2.85 per meal. Discussion that Operations Committee will study issue further. A motion was made by Larry Weisenburger and seconded by Delores Loock to proceed aggressively on this matter; motion carried. NEW BUS�SS0 Meal Surveys: Sharon Smith conducted a home - delivered meal survey, and the intern that was with the Department on Aging for one week did a telephone survey on the congregate m included 176 participants. disbursed and discussed. eal program The surveys This survey were both Brookdale Training: Sandy Gehramann and Sue Kramer went to Washington D.C. for a Brookdale Training. Foundation approved Action Program for St. Discussion on the Department on Aging doing another cookbook. A motion was made by Larry Weisenburger and seconded by Clarence Malick to pursue getting another cookbook and start collecting recipes, and it will be reviewed in two months; motion carried. November is Alzheimers month. Inventory lists are currently being updated . Card Tournament will be discussed at January Board meetings. There are an additional 5 hours for Drivers for County Holiday trips. A motion was made by Clarence Malick and seconded by Mary Lou Smith to approve use of the van by the St. Croix Croix Disability Coalition on December 10, 1995 to go to Bloomers motion carried, DEER Pam: The Center Board may rent popcorn in for winter to different groups. Having a Quilt Raffle. One of the cooks retired. Planning a Christmas shopping trip. On December 3rd, the Center Board will co-sponsor a Pancake Breakfast. GLENWOOD CITY: Took recycled cards to craft show in New Richmond. Will make Christmas cookies again this year for the seniors of the community. On November 22nd they will have a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. BALDWIN: Went to Augusta to see the Amish Community. Approximately 120 attended a Masquerade Party and dance. The card sales are going well. HUDSON: Carol Gorke brought pumpkins and made treat bags for Halloween Party. NEW RICHMOND, Invited participants to attend the Center Board meeting. Participants will take a Christmas trip to look at lights, Have two new members on Center Board. Representative from County Library did a presentation. Will start recycling cards. SOMERSET: Started a video day. Had a Hat Day. On November 27th participants will make angel.s . In December they will have Quilt Raffle. WOODVILLE: Having Bingo on Tuesday. Jean VandeBerg is the new Site Manager. Had a Halloween Party. Gladys and Ernie Ellefson are playing music at the Center. Sue Kramer will be coming to the Center to do a presentation on Advanced Directives. Will have an open house and decorate tree. A motion was made by Herb Giese and seconded by Phil Hammer to adjourn meeting at 110.55 a.m. ; motion carried.
