COUNCIL ON AGING MEETING

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at
10 : 25 a.m. by Chairman, Myrtle Munns .
ROLL CALL: Members present were Larry
Weisenburger, Herb Giese, Phil Hammer, Jerome
, , ee eaer, Andy Germain,
Clarence Malick, Mary Lou Smith, and Myrtle Munns .
Roberta Moe was absent. Also present were Ralph
Bader, Cindy Icard, Sandy Gehrmann, Barb Blaisdell,
Jonna Fedie, Elma Liberty, Carol Gorke, Janice
Thompson, Donna Zacharias, Sherry Crosby, Jean
VandeBerg, Elinor Nelson, Lorraine Jacobs, and Peggy
NeumannDelores LoockLKllh

ADOPTION OF AGENDA: A motion was made by
Delores Loock and seconded by Clarence Malick to adopt
the agenda; motion carried.

made by Clarence Malick and seconded by Herb Giese to
accept November minutes as printed with the exception to
take out one "Croix" from the St. Croix Disability
Coalition; motion carried.

1996 Budget: The Final 1995 Grant Award and the first
budget for 1996 were distributed and discussed.
The Reauthorization of the Older America's Act was
discussed.
Catered Meals: Discussed under Committee Reports.
NEW BUSINESS:
Committee Reports: The recommendations for the
Catering Contract(s) for the New Richmond and Somerset
Nutrition Sites were: Transportation, Operations, and
Personnel Committees all recommend that the Deer Park
Nutrition Site cater the meals. Discussion followed. A
motion was made by Clarence Malick and seconded by
Andy Germain to have Deer Park Nutrition Site cater
meals for New Richmond and Somerset Nutrition Sites as
outlined; motion carried.
Staff Reports:
The Helen Bader Grant has been deferred until March 11,
1996.
The Department on Aging is looking for someone to
attend the WI Senior Statesmanship Program in Madison
this winter.
The DayAway Program position will open up in January.
The interviews for the Faith in Action Coordinator
position will be January 2, 1996.
After discussion a motion was made by Clarence Malick
and seconded by Jerry Neumann to deny a trip for a
resident of Hastings, MN to go back home from Maple
Manor in New Richmond; motion carried.
The Spring Card Tournament dates are as follows
March 27, Hudson; April 3, Baldwin; April 10, Deer
Park; April 17, Glenwood City; April 24, New
Richmond; May 1, Woodville; and May 8, Somerset.
The time is scheduled for 90.30 a.m. and the games are
Euchre, 500, and Cribbage for all sites.
A motion was made by Jerry Neumann and seconded by
Andy Germain to approve the Proi ected 85.21 Grant with
the $4,000.00 increase of funding from the Governor's
Budget; motion carried.

DEER PARK: Christmas Party and the drawing for the
Quilt Raffle will be tomorrow.
GLENWOOD CITY: The 5th and 6th grade choirs
came to sing at the Pot Luck last Friday. The
Community Tree was put up and cookies were delivered
to 60 + people in the community.
BALDWIN: The Senior Center is giving 4 meal
certificates to people over age 60 in the community.
Went on shopping trip . The Village of Baldwin is still
talking about a new Community Center,
HUDSON: Starting in January, will have new activities
and programs . The Senior Center will donate meal
certificates to the Welcome Wagon for people 60 + . On
December 14th, participants went on van trip to look at
Christmas lights. Had a tree decorating party. The
nutrition site is now using trays instead of plates.
NEW RICHMOND: Each participant put an ornament
on tree. Had a Pot Luck Christmas Party on December
15th. Participants took a van trip to look at Christmas
lights. The 6th grade came to sing.
SOMERSET: Participants decorated angels for the
Christmas tree. The Quilt Raffle has made $500.00 so
far. There will be exercise classes every Thursday.
WOODVILLE: Having Bingo on Tuesdays, "500" on
Wednesdays, and Dominos on Thursdays. Had Open
House yesterday. The Christmas party will be tomorrow.
The Site Manager went with driver to deliver the home
bound meals last Thursday.
A motion was made by Larry Weisenburger and seconded
by Andy Germain to adjourn meeting at 110.40 a.m.;
motion carried.
