1. Radio Upgrade Project: Bruce Brantner reviewed the move
of the Communications Center that took place on April
26th. The move started at 8:00 a.m.. Both centers were
staffed at this time. 91.1 calls were switched at 8:15
a.m., at this time they were operating a Basic 911
system. All equipment was moved by 12:00. During this
time there were 14 vendor technicians in the centers
Ameritech,AT&T, B. Johnson, Motorola, Dictaphone, County
Computer, and County Building service. The new equipment
and systems were pretty well set up by 6:00 p.m.. E-911
was in place and operating by 8*00 p.m., in the new
center. The old center was terminated at 10:00 p.m..
All sites have been visited by Brantner, W.M. Montgomery
and Motorola. No major concerns were noted, items that
were noted have or are being taken care of.
The console in the old center has been removed by Quester
Radio. That equipment is being refurbished and will be
installed at the Hudson Police Department as an
alternate PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point).
The tower at the old center is in questionable ownership
between the city or the county. Supposedly it will have
to come down in order to remove the fuel tanks, which is
a seller responsibility.
The Hammond Tower should be removed by the end of the
week.
2. County Road 'N' Waxon Lease Agreement: Brantner
contacted Waxon and they want to have the site returned
to it's original state. He then contacted Jim Harer from
County Maintenance for an estimate on removal and
cleanup. Last year, bids had been let out for the
removal of the tower. The lowest bidder was Midwest
Tower. Burke/Pettee MOTION that Brantner contact Midwest
Tower and that Midwest Tower be retained to remove the
'N' Tower as long as their bid is within 10% of their
last year's bid.
The RACES repeater at the site will have to be relocated
to the Hudson Water Tower.
3. 1996 Budget Information: Brantner informed the committee
that the budget preparation starts the 1st of July.
There are no major expenditures expected other than
service agreements on the new system. The first quarter
of 1996 will be covered by warranties.
A Committee meeting needs to be scheduled for August to
review the 1996 budget proposal.
4. Bills and Vouchers: The Committee reviewed the bills for
January, February, March, April and May. Pettee/Pfaff
MOTION to accept the bills as presented. Carried.
