MINUTES OF THE ST.CROIX-COUNTY,TRANSPORTATION: COMMITTEE.
Meeting of August 24, 1995
The meeting was called to order by Vice-chairman, King at 8:00 A.M.
Roll call was*take r with Grant, Drakler, King,-and.Menter in attendance with
Sinclear excused. and arriving ''at .�9*a30?AaM.:
A motion was .made. by Menter, seconded by.Draxler, to adopt the agendaas
published IN 'Motion carried.
The next meeting was previously set for September 7,,1995 atA 9:00 'A.M: with
Sinclear and King reviewing vendors.at 6:00 A.M:.
A motion was made by Grant, seconded by Menter, to approve the minutes as mailed
to the members. Motion carried.
Announcements and Correspondence: Fedderly reviewed a letter received from
Mathy Construction congratulating St. Croix County ..Highway Department for
setting a new one day paving quality.and.-production record of 4,020.70 ton. A
sanitary district letter was sent to the Town of Hudson stressing the need for
delaying sanitary assessment fees to the :Highway Department. until access is
requested by the Highway Department.
Correspondence from, the Hudson area YMCA noted concerns with Fedderly's
correspondence to the City of Hudson regarding the YMQA access bn CTH !!UU"
Fedderly had responded to Hank Paulson of the .City of Hudson, noting-Ithat'the
area in question is within othe city limits and On .the City of,Hudson�s
jurisdiction, also noting the aDepartment's concern with :drainage on. too"CTH "UU'! .
Discussions and correspondences with Farrills Nursery ,of Hudson aria their
insurance company resolved `in a�Verbal commitment by Farrills Nursery toremove
limerockplaced in the CTH "UU1' ditch.
Fedderly handed out the WCA' summary :on .the state . budget and the .'monthly TDA
newsletter.
The City of New Richmond'and�WisDOTOare having discussions regarding the 35/64

when dealing with environmental actions as they atfect.,road improvements:
Review Preliminary 1996 Budget: Rich Loney discussed and answered questions
regarding the zero -based budget guidelines, the liability insurance premiums,
and the S.I.R.insurance replenishment costs being charged to each department.
Fedderly detailed the Highway` Department's preliminary 1996 administration,
maintenance, and road construction budgets. A motion was made by Draxler,
seconded by King, to present the zero -based Highway Department budget to the
Finance Committee and County Board as discussed with a letter along with it
requesting additional appropriations to be added for the (already contracted)
increase in the labor costs and to maintain consistency with all departments.
