Linda Luckey and Jack Breault were excused. STAFF PRESENT: Paul Burch, Max Ihrke, Martin Shanklin, Karen Humphrey, Roland Thompson, Greg Timmerman, Bruce Brantner, Lynn Holmes and Renee Carufel. Chuck Mehls was also in attendance. The meeting was called to order by Vice Chair Art Jacobson at 1:05 p.m. Motion by Krueger/Giese to approve the agenda as published. Carried. Motion by Giese/Krueger to approve the July 10, 1995 minutes. Carried. There will be a special meeting on August 21 to work on the budget. The next regular meeting will be Sept. 7th at 1:00 p.m. MEDICAL EXAMINER'S REPORT: Marty Shanklin reported his expenses. Motion by Krueger/Giese to approve the medical examiner's bills of $1484,33. Carried. LARGE ASSEMBLY ORDINANCE: Greg Timmerman reported to the committee on the large assembly ordinance update. He is working on rewriting the ordinance to address traffic control,parking and medical problems that would arise from large assemblies. Chuck Mehls also gave some input to this matter. Greg will consult with Chuck Mehls, Paul Burch Max Ihrke and Roland Thompson before writing the final draft. He expects to bring this back to the committee some time in November. CHILD SUPPORT REPORT: Lynn Holmes reported the need for a new copy machine. She brought in some prices from E.O. Johnson for a used machine. The committee recommended she also get some prices for a new machine to compare with this. BILLS & VOUCHERS: Review was made and motion by Krueger/Giese to approve the Sheriff's bills of $7469.54 and the Jail's bills of $27,985,89. Carried. The revenue for the Sheriff's department and Jail for the month of July was $119,646.40. Motion by Krueger/Giese to approve the District Attorneys bills of $925.35. Carried. REVIEW OF DOUBLE BUNKING: Karen Humphrey handed out several reports on the status of double bunking. Discussion was held. The committee recommends the following: the Sheriff Dept. will continue with the double bunking operation through the end of 1995 utilizing the 4 Limited Term Employees as security officers. As of 1-1-96 the LTE's will become full time permanent positions. The clerk A continue as a permanent part-time position. TRANSFER OF DRUG FUNDS: Discussion was held. Motion by Krueger/Giese to approve a transfer of $2500 to the buy money account and authorizes paying 20% fee to the Federal Government for acquiring a forfeited vehicle. Carried. REVIEW OF GOV'T GRANTS AVAILABLE: Roland Thompson reported that the Speedwave federal grant will continue from Oct. 1, 1995 until Sept. 1, 1996 this year instead of just the five months in the summer as in the past years. Motion by Giese/Krueger to approve the County's request to make application for this grant. Carried. Motion by Giese/Krueger to adjourn at 3:10 P.M. Carried.
