DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S REPORT: Johnson requested that the LTE
position be changed to a permanent part time position. This
position is 75% federally funded. It would only cost the County an
additional $99 per year in additional benefits. Motion by
Breault/Giese to approve the District Attorney's recommendation of
changing the LTE position to permanent part time. Carried.
Transcripts were discussed. A Court Reporter feels he should get
compensation for copies of transcripts needed by the District
Attorney's office. It.was the consensus of the Committee that this
be resolved as quickly as possible.
Motion by Giese/Breault to approve the bills for the DA of $305.82.

at $8.91 per hour, and the temporary part time Computer Operator &
Special Project Assistant for 500 hours a year at $9.51 per hr from
1/2/96-12/31/96. Both these positions are at the present time 66%
federally funded. Total wage and fringe cost of these two
positions in 1996 would be $16,959. The Federal Share at 66% would
be $11,193. County cost at 3401 would be $5766. Motion by
Breault/Giese reconfirming the need of renewing these part time
clerk and computor operator positions. Carried.
BILLS AND VOUCHERS: Motion by Giese/Breault to approve the bills
of $7454.79 for the Sheriff's department and $30,793.91 for the

JAIL MAINTENANCE: Burch requested the maintenance for the Jail be
increased from 16 hours a week to 25 hours a week. Discussion was

maintenance in the Jail.

20 hours per week for $13,787 in wages and $1350 for equipment.
