This Stan- dard Erosion Control Plan is provided to assist in meeting this requirement. Instructions: 1. Complete this plan by filling in requested information, completing the site diagram and marking (✓) appropriate boxes on the inside of this form. 2. In completing the site diagram, give consideration to potential erosion that may occur before, during, and after grading. Water runoff patterns can change significantly as a site is reshaped. 3. Submit this plan at the time of building permit application. Q Q Site Characteristics North arrow, scale, and site boundary. Indicate and name adjacent streets or roadways. X ❑ Location of existing drainageways, streams, rivers, lakes, wetlands or wells. ❑ Location of storm sewer inlets. l,$ Location of existing and proposed buildings and paved areas. ❑ The disturbed area on the lot. ❑ Approximate gradient and direction of slopes before grading operations. ❑ Approximate gradient and direction of slopes after final grading operations. I x ❑ Overland runoff (sheet flow) coming onto the site from adjacent areas. Erosion Control Practices ❑ '* Location of temporary soil storage piles. Note: Soil storage piles should be placed behind a sediment fence, a 10 foot wide vegetative strip, or should be covered with a tarp or more than 25 feet from any downslope road or drainageway. l Location of gravel access drive(s). Note: Gravel drive should have 2 to 3 inch aggregate stone laid at least 7 feet wide and 6 inches thick. Drives should extend from the roadway 50 feet or to the house foundation (whichever is less). C r El Location of sediment controls (filter fabric fence, straw bale fence or 10 -foot wide vegetative strips) that will pre- vent eroded soil from leaving the site. 1$ ❑ Location of sediment barriers around on -site storm sewer inlets. ❑ Location of diversions. Note: Although not specifically required by code, it is recommended that concentrated flow (drainageways) be diverted (re- directed) around disturbed areas. Overland runoff (sheet flow) from adjacent areas greater than 10, 000 sq. ft. should also be diverted around disturbed areas. l ❑ Location of practices that will be applied to control erosion on steep slopes (greater than 12% grade). Note: Such practices include maintaining existing vegetation, placement of additional sediment fences, diversions, and re- vegetation by sodding or by seeding with use of erosion control mats. l4 ❑ Location of practices that will control erosion in areas of concentrated runoff flow. Note: Unstabilized drainageways, ditches, diversions, and inlets should be protected from erosion through use of such practices as in- channel fabric or straw bale barriers, erosion control mats, staked sod, and rock rip -rap. a When used, a given in- channel barrier should not receive drainage from more than two acres of unpaved area, or one acre of paved area. In- channel practices should not be installed in perennial streams (streams with year -round flow.) ❑ iXl Location of other planned practices not already noted. The contents of the septic tank shall be disposed of in accordance with NR 113, Wis. Adm. The operating condition of'the septic tank and outlet filter shall be assessed at least once every 3 years by inspection. The outlet filter shall,Ze cleaned as necessary to ensure proper operation. The filter cartridge should not be removed unless provisions are made to retain solids in the tank that may slough off the filter when removed from its enclosure. Tank abandonment shall be In accordance with Comm 83.33, Wis. Adm. Code when the tank is no longer used as a POWTS component. Soil Absorotion Comaonerrt The soil absorption component serving this structure is designed to accept domestic wastewater from a residential facility. The limits of operation of this component are shown in Table 2. The longevity of a soil absorption component depends greatly on proper and timely maintenance, and system use within or below the limits of reliable operation. Good water conservation practices by all occupants and the installation of water conserving plumbing fixtures are key factors in extending the useful life of this component. The soil absorption component's operation must be assessed by inspection at least once every three years. The inspection shall include recording the levels of ponding, if any, in the observation pipes, and a visual Inspection for any evidence of surface seepage or discharge from the component. On steeply sloping sites, areas of erosion should be identified and reported to the owner for repair. The surface discharge of domestic wastewater or sewage from the system is prohibited and considered a human health hazard. Traffic around or over the soil absorption component should be avoided particularly during winter months. The compaction or removal of snow cover over the component may lead to hydraulic failure by freezing. This type of failure is usually temporary, but is difficult or impossible to repair until weather conditions improve. In general, soil compaction over this component will reduce diffusion of oxygen into the soil and dispersal cell, which may lead to more intense, and earlier, organic clogging of the soil. 2 CONTINGENCY PLAN If the POWTS falls anct cannot be repaired the lollowlne measures have been, or most be taken, to Pro" a C OO compllant replacement system: A suitable replacement area has been evaluated and may be utilized for the Ioutbn of a rep{aoement loll absorption system.
