HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions 2010 (09) RESOLUTION APPROVING ALTERATION OF SUPERVISORY DISTRICT BOUNDARY RESULTING FROM AN ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF HUDSON RESOLUTION # q (2010) St. Croix County, Wisconsin WHEREAS, in 2009 the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors enacted an ordinance that reduced the number of supervisory district boundaries from 31 to 19 as a result of the passage of a November 4, 2008 county -wide referendum; and WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statutes § 59.10(3)(c) allows a county board, in its discretion, to alter the boundaries of supervisory districts based on annexations which occur after the adoption of the supervisory district plan, as long as the number of supervisory districts is not changed; and WHEREAS, the City of Hudson completed an annexation in February, 2010 of a parcel of approximately 7.32 acres; and WHEREAS, a map of the annexed parcel, along with a copy of the annexation ordinance, has been filed with the St. Croix County Clerk and are attached; and WHEREAS, the parcel annexed by the City of Hudson is part of County Supervisor District 13, consisting of Wards 2 and 3 of the Town of Troy and Wards 4 — 7 of the Town of Hudson; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate to move the annexed parcel into a supervisory district in the City of Hudson; and WHEREAS, this resolution does not change the number of supervisory districts. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that the supervisory district boundaries are hereby altered by moving the annexed parcel of land from County Supervisor District 13 to County Supervisor District 14 consisting of Wards, 1 — 5 and 9 in the City of Hudson as shown on the attached; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Clerk is hereby directed to forwarc�,all notices required under Wisconsin Statutes, Chapter 59, to the Secretary of State for th%Wtpo o �l advising that office of said supervisory district boundary changes. v « o AA VJ LL �cD � o y. CITY OF HUDSON, WISCONSIN ORDINANCE NO. 1 -10 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF HUDSON, WISCONSIN. The Common Council of the City of Hudson, St. Croix County, Wisconsin, do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Territory Annexed. In accordance with Section 66.0217(2) of the Wisconsin Statutes and the petition for unanimous annexation filed with the City Clerk on December 28, 2009 and amended January 28, 2010, signed by the owner and electors residing in the following described territory in the Town of Hudson, St. Croix County, Wisconsin, is annexed to the City of Hudson, Wisconsin: (See Exhibit A) SECTION 2. Effective Annexation. From and after the effective date of this ordinance the territory described in Section 1 shall be a part of the City of Hudson for any and all purposes provided by law and all persons coming or residing within such territory shall be subject to"all ordinances, rules and regulations governing the City of Hudson, Wisconsin. SECTION 3. Zoning Classification. As authorized by Wisconsin Statutes Section 66.0217(9)(a) and pursuant to the City of Hudson Zoning Code, Section 255 -12, the territory annexed to the City of Hudson by this ordinance is zoned RM -1, Multiple Family Residential District. SECTION 4. Ward Designation. The territory described in Section 1 of this ordinance is hereby made a part of the Fifth Ward of the City of Hudson, Second Aldermanic District, subject to ordinances, rules and regulations of the City governing wards. SECTION S. Severability. If any of this ordinance other than Section 6 is invalid or unconstitutional, or if the application of this ordinance to any person or circumstances is invalid or unconstitutional, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the other provisions or applications of this ordinance. SECTION 5. Annexation Agreement. This annexation is conditional upon the owner(s) of the property signing an annexation agreement with the City of Hudson. SECTION 7. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect upon execution of an Annexation Agreement as required in Section 6, passage and publication of this ordinance as provided by law. Dated this day of 10.
