CROIX COUNTY PARKS DEPARTMENT APPLICATION FOR AN OUTDOOR RECREATION AIDS GRANT Resolution No. ZbbCa St. Croix County, Wisconsin WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Parks Department is interested in developing lands for public outdoor recreation purposes by making improvements and providing access to Cedar Lake in St. Croix County; and WHEREAS, financial aid may be available in the form of a 50 percent matching grant from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources under the Outdoor Recreational Aids Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the cost to make the improvements and provide the access is $29,000; and WHEREAS, the Star Prairie Land Preservation Trust and the Cedar Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District will provide the 50 per cent County share of $14,500, and the grant, if approved, will cover the other $14,500 of the project cost, the project is to be completed in 2007. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that it approves making improvements and providing access to Cedar Lake in St. Croix County provided that no county dollars will be expended towards this project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors hereby authorizes Robert Heise, Director of the Parks Department, acting under the direction of the Land and Water Conservation Committee, to submit an application to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for an Outdoor Recreation Aids grant to make the improvements and provide the access to Cedar Lake and to sign necessary documents in compliance with grant requirements; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that St. Croix County will comply with state and federal rules for the program; will meet the financial obligations under the grant; Star Prairie Land Preservation Trust will maintain the completed project in an attractive, inviting and safe manner; will keep the facilities open to the general public during reasonable hours consistent with the type of facility; and will obtain written approval from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources before any change is made in the use of the project site. +i Offered by the Land and Water Conservation Committee on March 21, 2006, Affirmative Negative Reviewed by: Date: Greg immerman, Corporation Counsel ADOPTED ON: S &4"Cj, 0 l 0660 ATTEST: n Cindy Campbell, Cohnty C erk
