BYLAWS REGARDING DEPARTMENT HEAD VACANCIES
RESOLUTION NO. 13 abo(��
St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 40 (2004) added to the Board of Supervisors Rules and
Bylaws Article VI, Section E, which reads:
When a department head vacancy occurs, the potential for improving County
government by modifying the position description and /or the organization of the
department shall be considered by the contact committee; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Bylaw section is to use the occasion of a high -
level management vacancy as an opportunity to consider whether organizational changes
are appropriate; and
WHEREAS, UW- Extension agents are not department heads, and have no
department head, but they actually divide among themselves the administrative duties of
department heads; and
WHEREAS, the Administration Committee recommends that in the future UW-
Extension agent positions be subject to the same review as department head positions.
THEREFORE, be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that the
Board of Supervisors Rules and Bylaws be amended to read:
"When a department head or UW- Extension Agent vacancy occurs, the potential for
improving County government by modifying the position description and/or the
organization of the department shall be considered by the contact committee."
