TO REPLACE BOAT LANDING AT PINE LAKE COUNTY PARK

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, public parks promote the public health, comfort, convenience and welfare; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County continues to provide outdoor recreational opportunities to promote the
well-being of individuals and families, improve the attractiveness of the County and contribute to the social and
economic health of the County and its communities; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County has operated a county park system for over 30 years to provide
recreational opportunities for County residents and the general public; and
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Outdoor Recreation Plan identifies the need to replace and
improve the boat landing at Pine Lake County Park; and
WHEREAS, financial aid may be available in the form of a 50 percent matching grant from the
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources under the Recreational Boating Facilities Program to replace and
improve the boat landing at Pine Lake County Park, and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County Parks Department has budgeted $44,000 for this project in the Parks
Department budget for 2006, showing $22,000 paid by the County, and $22,00 being paid with grant fiords,
with the project being completed in 2009.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors hereby
authorizes application for a grant and assistance available from the Wisconsin Departirient of Natural Resources
under the Recreational Boating Facilities Program to replace and improve the boat landing at Pine Lake County
Park; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors hereby authorizes
Robert Heise, Director of the Parks Department, acting under the direction of the Land and Water Conservation
Committee, to submit an application to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for a grant and to sign
necessary documents in compliance with grant application requirements; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if the grant application for $44,000 is approved, the Parks
Department is authorized to proceed with and complete the replacement and irriprovement of the boat landing at
Pine Lake County Park; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that St. Croix County will comply with state and federal rules for the
program; will meet the financial obligations under the grant; will maintain the completed project in an attractive,
inviting and safe mariner; will keep the facilities open to the general public during reasonable hours consistent
with the nature of the facility; and will obtain written approval from the Wisconsin Department of Natural
Resources before any change is made in the use of the project site.
