Duncan, Norma Vrieze; Fred Johnson, Health & Human Services Director; Ron Lockwood, Long -Term Support Coordinator; Chuck Whiting, County Administrator; Tammy Funk, Human Resources Administrator; Buck Malick, County Board Chair; Sue Nelson, Council on Aging Chair; Esther Wentz, Health & Human Services Chair; Abby Kubly, Department on Aging Student Intern; Leanne Brown and Mary Boots, Consumer /Stakeholders AGENDA 1. Introduction & Overview Reviewed agenda. Clarified individual expectations for the meeting. 2. Creating a Foundation for Productive Meetings Set meeting ground rules. Reviewed different decision making roles. 3. Setting the Context for Moving Forward Previewed DHFS video What is an ADRC. Reviewed key tasks and clarified state requirements for ADRC operation. Reviewed proposed state funding for St. Croix County. Established work plan to achieve desired implementation date. Determined to submit ADRC application to state, February 2008. 4. Vision: A Key to Becoming an Effective Organization Discussed difference between vision and mission, and why vision matters. 5. Creating a Vision for ADRC of St. Croix County Developed the vision statement: Where you can get help with your aging and disability needs. 6. Ensuring Consumer Voice in ADRC Development Common message strategy not discussed. 7. Determine Next Steps Discussion regarding need to decide on organizational structure and governance. Determined values upon which to evaluate different options: impact on consumers, cost, impact on staff, political feasibility. Participants were given two "homework" assignments. 1. To read the Harvard Business Review article, "What You Don't Know About Making Decisions ". 2. Assess potential models for organizational structure and governance based on values determined by group. 8.
