PURCHASE AND INSTALL SUFFICIENT HARDWARE AND
SOFTWARE TO DISPLAY CELLULAR E911 TELEPHONE CALLS

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, cellular 911 calls originating from within St Croix County do not provide the
receiving public safety answering point (PSAP) with the telephone number and location of the
caller; and
WHEREAS, the volume of cellular 911 calls has reached at least 50% of all 911 telephone calls
received by the St Croix County; and
WHEREAS, the State of Wisconsin has recognized a need to provide the telephone number and
location of cellular 911 calls; and
WHEREAS, the State of Wisconsin has established a monthly surcharge for each cellular
telephone subscriber the proceeds of which will be used to provide grants to counties wishing to
purchase equipment which will display the telephone number and location of cellular 911 calls;
and
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors designated the St. Croix County
Emergency Communications Center as the PSAP eligible to receive grant funding for cellular
911 implementation at their January 18, 2005 meeting; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County will budget in its discretion amounts in the 2006 -2008 budgets for
puwAvtse -of systems capable of displaying the telephone number and location of cellular 911

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St Croix County Board of Supervisors hereby
authorizes application for matching grants from the Public Service Commission of the State of
Wisconsin; and
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED that the St Croix County Board of Supervisors hereby
authorizes the Emergency Communications Director, under the direction of the Emergency
Management/Emergency Communications Committee, to submit the grant application to the
Public Service Commission of the State of Wisconsin..
