St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors is charged with serving and protecting
the residents of St. Croix County; and
WHEREAS, there is ever increasing levels of methamphetamine (meth) use in St. Croix County;
and
WHEREAS, the social/economic impact of meth use is a problem that reaches the lives of all
residents of St. Croix County; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County has led the state in meth cases since reporting began in 1998; and
WHEREAS, a County ad hoc committee on methamphetamine can be the driving force in
identifying and organizing programs of information, education and awareness for use by County
departments and residents of St. Croix County.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors does hereby
authorize and create an ad hoc committee on methamphetamine to be known as the "Meth
Advisory Committee;"
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED that the purpose of such committee is to create community
awareness and assist in the organization of informational and educational programs for St. Croix
County residents regarding the dangers of methamphetamine.
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED that the committee shall be comprised of eleven members:
three St. Croix County Board supervisors appointed by the Board Chair; the Sheriff, or his
designee; the District Attorney, or his designee; a member of St. Croix County Public Health; a
member of St. Croix County Human Services Treatment/Rehabilitation; a representative of the
media; and three at -large members from the private sector appointed by the County Board Chair.
The Chairman of the committee shall be a St. Croix County Board supervisor.
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED that the County Board supervisors on the committee shall be
eligible for per diems and expense reimbursement in accordance with the Board's Rules and
Bylaws.
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED that the duration of the committee shall be for two years,
subject to extensions by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors.
