OF SUPERVISORS TO ACTIVELY PURSUE COLLECTION OF
DELINQUENT FINES AND FEES
RESOLUTION # 4-� ( 2 D05)
ST. CROIX COUNTY, WISCONSIN
WHEREAS, delinquent unpaid fines and fees owed to St. Croix County amount to over
$2,000,000; and
WHEREAS, during the goal setting sessions of 2003 and 2004, delinquent fine collection was
voted one of the top three goals; and
WHEREAS, suggested methods of attaining this goal have not been attempted; and
WHEREAS, bill collection attempts by outside agencies have not been effective with the
exception of State Tax Refund Intercept; and
WHEREAS, multiple County department action, plus media cooperation, have the potential to
collect a portion of these bills; and
WHEREAS, several of the individuals involved in the delinquent fines are repeat offenders.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that St. Croix County make immediate plans to formulate a
collection procedure for existing delinquent funds owed to the County.
