Home My WebLink AboutResolutions 2005 Failed Y RESOLUTION TO RENAME THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMITTEE AND PLANNING AND ZONING DEPARTMENT Resolution No. ; & St. Croix County, Wisconsin a t WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Committee has a number of responsibilities in addition to planning and zoning, including other land use regulations, real property description, mapping, land information, recycling and solid waste, Register of Deeds, and coordination with the Economic Development Corporation; and WHEREAS, the mission statement for the Planning and Zoning Department also includes a similar mission and business responsibilities beyond planning and zoning; and WHEREAS, neighboring counties and other Wisconsin counties with similar organization of responsibilities have named their County Board committees and staff departments to reflect this broader mission and set of responsibilities; and WHEREAS, the title "Community Development" has been used in other counties and municipalities to more accurately represent this broader mission and set of responsibilities. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors hereby amends the County Board Rules and Bylaws to rename the Planning and Zoning Committee, the Community Development Committee, and to rename the Planning and Zoning Department, the Community Development Department. Land and Water Conservation Committee Responsible for policy development and budget management for the Land and Water Conservation Department, pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes §59.70(20) and ch. 92, and the St. Croix County parks system and Parks Department. Emergency Management and Communications Committee Responsible for completing, reviewing, updating and implementing an emergency management program consistent with the State emergency management plan.
