Date of next meeting was set for February 6, 2007 Norton- Bauman moved that the agenda be adopted as presented. Peavey seconded the motion. Motion carried. Peavey moved that the previous meeting's minutes be approved. Burri seconded the motion. Motion carried. Burri moved that the vouchers be approved. Peavey seconded the motion. Motion carried. Administrative Report Federal Budget —no report. State Budget —no report County Budget • Reaman reported on the status of the 2006 budget. WACEC — Joan Sprain reported that the District WACEC meeting will be Friday January 26 at the Sleep Inn Conference Center near Chippewa Falls. Burri, Norton- Bauman, and Sprain will be attending. (Sprain will drive, picking up Norton - Bauman in Hudson at 8:00 a.m. and Burri at the office in Baldwin at 8:30 a.m.). The State WACEC Convention will be in Madison March 26 -28 Registrations are due February 26 Legislative visits will be a part of the program and will be scheduled by staff. Decisions regarding who will attend will be made at the February Committee meeting. Personnel: • Reaman reviewed the shared leadership roles for the Department Head position. Motion by Ruetz, second by Burri to approve the shared leadership roles as presented by the agents. Motion passed. 4 -H Youth Development Report Reaman announced that the State 4 -H Livestock Specialist will be teaching a Meat Animal Quality Assurance Training for adults in February. The purpose of Meat Animal Quality Assurance is to ensure a safe and wholesome meat product for consumers and the topic is this session will be on care and management. Reaman will be working with the Dunn County 4 -H Agent to develop a D2L course for 4 -H club leaders. The on -line, web based course will feature monthly topics that are relevant to the 4 -H club leadership team. This is a new delivery method for volunteer leadership development and may be expanded to include volunteers from other youth organizations. This month, current 4 -H project leaders will be surveyed to identify topics they would like to receive training on. Based upon the results Reaman will develop face to face workshops around those topics. Agricultural Agent Report Milligan reviewed an updated position description for the St. Croix County UW- Extension agriculture agent. Peavey moved to accept the position description for the St. Croix County UW- Extension Agriculture Agent. Burri second. Motion carried. Milligan discussed the educational programming areas to address in 2007. The Committee provided input into the areas for Milligan to address. He will focus on farm management, dairy and livestock management, forages, and corn/soybeans. Energy will be a component of several of these issues. Milligan will be attending a state UW Extension energy conference this spring designed as an inservice for agriculture agents. Family Living Agent Report Joan passed out a calendar of family living educational programs based on her Plan of Work. Chair moved to adjourn. Respectively submitted, Eugene Ruetz Secretary mh
