Absent and excused: Ronald Raymond I The meeting was called to order by vice- chairman Burri. I Date of next meeting was set for December 4, 2007. Ruetz moved that the agenda be adopted as presented. j i Norton- Bauman seconded the motion. Motion carried. Ruetz moved that the October 2, 2007 minutes be approved. i Norton- Bauman seconded the motion. Motion carried. Norton - Bauman moved that the vouchers be approved. Ruetz seconded the motion. Motion carried. Administrative Report Federal Budget —no report. State Budget — no report i County Budget — no report WACEC — no report Strategic Planning: - Reaman and Milligan reviewed the procedure to be used for this 4 -year planning cycle. A more detailed report with potential results will be shared at the next committee meeting. Agriculture Agent Report I Milligan reviewed upcoming educational programs in the areas of farm business arrangements, legal issues for agriculture, forages, beef production, dairy facilities, ag lenders program, water quality issues and 2oo8 crop plots. Milligan is also co- leading an effort to develop a website entitled Farm Succession. The site is almost ready for use. Milligan reported an issue with aflatoxins in some corn. It is a toxin produced by Aspergillis fungi that may be harmful to livestock and humans. Milligan has been informing producers of what can be done with the affected corn. a -H Youth Development Report Reaman presented information she learned at the NAE4 -HA Conference on internet security, specific to internet social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace. Reaman will be developing a program for parents to learn about safety issues with these types of sites. Ruetz moved that the meeting adjourned. Norton - Bauman seconded the motion. Motion carried.
