Administrative Report
Community Partner Advisory Group:
Kling reported that he, Sprain, and Hilfiker met with the Community Partner Advisory Group (Stuart Nelson, Mari Omann, Mary Paulson, Marilyn
Olson, and Carolyn Barrette). The group plans to meet 2 -3 times to assist staff in preparation for the UWEX county fair display and Chancellor's
visit. The group discussed UW- Extension's role in the county and identified various ways to convey the message to citizens at our county fair display.
Given UW- Extension's wide array of programming, the group suggested using the tag line of "UWEX: Planting Seeds for Greater Success ".
Promotional items such as a seed packet with programming and contact information could be used in conjunction with the theme. The group also
suggested using a raffle or drawing for a donated item as a way to attract people to the display.
Bio- energy Grant:
Kling asked for a letter of support for the 2007 -2oo8 Program Innovation Fund Grant application titled: Earth, Wind, and Fire: Preparing for Bio-
energy Opportunities in Wisconsin. Kling is collaborating with Andrew Dane from Chippewa County on the $50,000 proposal to develop
preparedness materials for communities considering bio- energy opportunities. No additional county funds will be required.
Meeting adjourned by Chairman Raymond.
Respectively submitted,
Eugene Ruetz
Secretary
