Present: Ronald Raymond, Lois Burri, Bill Peavey, Gene Ruetz, Sharon Norton - Bauman, Lee Milligan, Pete Kling,
Kimberly Reaman, Joan Sprain, Martha Mabis, and Mary Lestrud.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ron Raymond.
Date of next meeting was set for July 3, 2007
Burri moved that the agenda be adopted as presented. Ruetz seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Ruetz moved that the previous meeting's minutes be approved. Burri seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Burri moved that the vouchers be approved. Norton- Bauman seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Administrative Report
Federal Budget —no report.
State Budget —no report

County Budget:
!! Committee reviewed and approved the Department's Budget Missions and Responsibilities
!! Reaman reviewed the capital improvement plan for UW- Extension. It includes one desk top computer to
replace a computer purchased in2002.
�! The pay plan for the UW- System has not been finalized. Extension administration is advising county staff to
budget for a 3% increase.

Other Administrative Items:
R Chancellor's visit — Joan reported on the Chancellor's visit on July 19th during the St. Croix Co. Fair. There
will be a welcome, tour of the fair, participation in the Reading Fair, and a discussion with the Chancellor at
3:00 pm at the Glenwood Community Center. More details will be available at the July meeting.
-Committee discussed County Fair marketing.
4 -H Youth Development Report
4 -H International Programs — Reaman reported that there will be 12 youth from Japan and Korea being hosted

by 4 -H families in St. Croix County. Programming has included host family orientations so it will be a successful
experience for the host family and the Japanese /Korean youth. The selection of host families also includes
background checks and host family interviews. The Japanese /Korean youth will arrive July 22 and be in St. Croix
County for four weeks.

New 4 -H Leader Enrollments — Twenty-five adults have completed the WI 4 -H Youth Protection program and I
become new 4 -H leaders in St. Croix County. Reaman teaches three new leader orientations over the winter /spring
which includes lessons on working effectively with youth, roles and responsibilities of being a 4 -H leader and risk j
management.
4 -H Summer Assistants — Heather Pederson and Jenelle Laska have been hired as the
4 -H /Comity Fair Summer Assistants. They are attending the summer assistant training today but will attend the
Extension Committee meeting in July.
Resource Development Report
Bio- energy: $1,250 was awarded from the Western District Innovative Fund to create educational materials for the
regional bio- energy team. We will find out whether we received the $50,000 dollar UWEX /Colleges bio - energy grant
on June 18 or soon thereafter. If we don't receive the grant, we are planning to move forward with a series of bio -
energy forums.
New Richmond Business Market Analysis Update: We've received the 2007 demographic information from
the Center for Community and Economic Development. The next step is to work with the NR Area Economic
Development Corporation, NR Chamber, and others to update the plan.

Family Living Report
Sprain reported on partnerships she has created to deliver parent education. (See attached handout) Mary Paulson,
from Hudson Middle School, explained why working with UW- Extension has been so helpful in developing a
Strengthening Families 10-14 team. She cited the training, coordination and resources as three benefits.
