Son Absorption Comoonem The soil absorption component serving this structure Is designed to accept domestic wastewater from a residential facility. The limits of operation of this component are shown in Table 2. The longevity of a soil absorption component depends gay on per and timely maintenance. and system use within or below itar limits of rsllabie operation. Good water conservation practices by all occupants and the ostallation of water conserving plumbing fixtures are key factors in extending the useful We of this component. The soil absorption componenrs operation must be assessed by inspedlon at least once every tit" years. The inspection shah include reco CUV the levels of pond", if any, in the observebon pipes. and a vhml inspection for any evidence of surface seep up or discharge from the cxompofw4. On steeply sloping sites, areas of erosion should be identNted and reported to the owner for repair. The surface discharge of domestic wastewater or sewage from the system is prohibited and considered a human health hazard. Traffic around or over the slap absorption Wvp)nent should be avoided particularty durincj winter months. The compulxcoon or removal of snow cover over the component may lead to hydraulic failure by free". This type of failure is usually temporary. but is difficult or impassible to repair until weather conditions improve. in general, soil compaction over this component will reduce diffusion of oxygen into the sad and dispersal cell. which may lead to more intense, and earlier, organic clogging of the soil. 2 05!02 /O1 WED 10:28 FAR, 715 336 4686 ST CRX CO ZONIN Management Plan for a S"fic Tank and S Absorption Component Plantings of deep-rooted trees and shrubs directly over or willhin ton %ell of the component t s h ou ld b avok shoe mot intrusion Into tft cornpongnt my o bstruct wastewater fkyw. 3T.
