Buildings and lot improvements must meet or exceed setback requirements as per St. Croix County zoning code. Measurements must be referenced to the Ordinary High Watermark (OHW) of navigable lakes, ponds or flowages, as per St. Croix County Zoning Code. The residential structure appears to be less than seventy-five (75') from Squaw Lake. The OHW must be established prior to the issuance of the sanitary permit. An erosion control plan (enclosed) must also be submitted showing the methods that will be used to prevent transportation of soils to the lake. The house location must also be staked for verification of the seventy -five foot setback to the OHW. St. Croix County Zoning staff will then visit the site to verify setback requirements and erosion control issues. The sanitary permit cannot be issued at this time. Upon verification of setbacks and approval of the erosion control plan the sanitary permit process can continue. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
