According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources report titled, Designation of Sensitive Areas — Squaw Lake, St. Croix County, Squaw Lake is a hypereutrophic lake that is vulnerable to the impacts of shoreline development. The applicants' shoreline is within Designated Sensitive Area (DSA) #4, which supports important near -shore terrestrial and shoreline habitat. With conditions for following the recommendations for DSA #4 in the enclosed report, the gazebo will not negatively impact this sensitive area. Dave Fogerty was doing the soil work and it is difficult to be sure where the OHWM elevation is at the far north end of Squaw Lake. The actual water is a few hundred feet south of his frontage, but Dave needs to be sure any POWTS design is at [eat 50' from the OHWM. Is there a set elevation on that lake or would you be able to schedule a time to do a determination? The owner is Clayton Kaufer at 2278 100th St. in section 9 of Star Prairie. Probably best to contact Dave Fogerty and he could meet you there for first -hand information. The POWTS might encroach within 75' of the OHWM, but would setback averaging apply to an at- grade? He wants to make sure he has all the bases covered before committing to a design. Thanks!
