St. Croix County Meth Advisory Committee Meetin! Minutes
December 13, 2007
Members Present: Esther Wentz, Tom Caflisch, Denise Gunderson, Steve Kirt, Ed Thurman,
Adam Wojciehowski, and Joan Sprain. Guest: Jen Rockhill, Youth Service Bureau
Chair Esther Wentz called the meeting to order.
Tom Caflisch moved that the minutes from the last meeting be approved. Denise Gunderson
seconded it. Motion carried.
Motion passed to approve the December agenda.
NEXT MEETING: Thursday January 24 3:00 PM Room 1281
For the benefit of those who were unable to attend the November meeting, Adam
Wojciehowski Somerset PD, reviewed the highlights from his report regarding the underage
drinking coalition.
OLD AND NEW BUSINESS
1. Name Change
The name of the committee was discussed and the decision was to rename the Meth Advisory
Committee to the St. Croix Co. Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Advisory Committee.
Steve Kirt moved to recommend the name change to Buck Malick, County Board Chair. .
Tom Caflisch seconded it. The motion carried.
2. Reports:
Jen Rockhill, Community Justice Coordinator from The St. Croix Valley Youth Service
Bureau shared information regarding their programs. They have an offense driven Chemical
Awareness Program and STEP Up Teen Intervention program for youth and families that has
been very successful. They are looking for ways we might work together. In a year, they will
move their office from River Falls to Hudson.
3. Butterfly House
Denise reported they are currently serving four residents and Associated Counseling provides
services to the residents and one resident has graduated.
4. Member Update
Denise will again invite Brad Nemec to come on our committee meeting and also to become a
member of the committee.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:30.
