Present: Ronald Raymond, Lois Burri, Bill Peavey, Gene Ruetz (arrived at 10:05 am),
Sharon Norton- Bauman, Lee Milligan, Jim Janke, Kimberly Reaman, and Joan Sprain.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ron Raymond.
Date of next meeting was set for July 6, 2oo6.
Burri moved that the agenda be adopted as presented. Peavey seconded the motion.
Motion carried.
Peavey moved that the previous meeting's minutes be approved. Burri seconded the
motion. Motion carried.
Peavey moved that the vouchers be approved. Ruetz seconded the motion. Motion
carried.
Administrative Report
Peavey moved to refill the Community, Natural Resource and Economic Development
Agent position based on evaluation of the current position and the future educational
needs of St. Croix County governmental units, small businesses and residents. Burri
second the motion. Motion carried.
Discussion focused on the future educational needs including local government
education, small business development education, economic development education
and natural resource education i.e., drinking water and energy issues.
Raymond moved to approve a salary cap of $45,000 for the l00% full time equivalent
Community, Natural Resource and Economic Development position based on
University of Wisconsin Extension paying 6o% and St. Croix County 40% of the salary.
Ruetz second the motion. Motion carried.
Burri moved to approve the job description with modifications to include local
programming needs. Ruetz second the motion. Motion carried.
The Committee and Perkl agreed to work together to address community, natural
resource and economic development educational needs during the interim of Janke's
retirement and the hiring of a replacement.
4 -H Youth Development Agent Report
Reaman reported that St. Croix County 4 -H was awarded a $1o,000 grant from
National 4 -H Council for the Grow 4 -H Initiative.
There will be 5 Japanese youth and one chaperone hosted by families in St. Croix
County. The exchange is between 4 -H in the US and the LABO program in Japan.
Family Living Agent Report
Sprain handed out a Family Living Program description and explained that she would
like to meet either via phone or face -to -face to discuss the current and future family
living program. She will be contacting each member to set up a time.
Peavey moved to adjourn. Burri seconded the motion. Motion carried.
