CROIX COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER, HUDSON WI October 31, 2006 Present: Committee: Supervisors Wally Habhegger, Lois Burri, Ron Troyer, Stan Krueger, Gene Ruetz Staff: Dave Fodroczi, Bob Bezek, Ellen Denzer, Judy Olson Call to Order: Chair Habhegger called the meeting to order at 1:53 p.m. Action on Previous Minutes: none. Date of Next Meeting: November 16, 2006, 8:30 a.m. Planning and Zoning Business: Zoning Ordinance Amendments Regarding Signs — Fodroczi reviewed the proposed Ordinance Establishing a Temporary Moratorium on Permanent Signs with the Committee. He explained that this would be a six -month moratorium from January 1 through June 30, 2007 and would apply to the towns under the County Zoning Ordinance. Ruetz suggested the word "trailers" be added to Section V4 "... attached to trucks, trailers, other vehicles, or parts thereof, . . ." Habhegger recommended adding to Section V4, • All land use permits for temporary signs shall expire 45 days after this ordinance expires. • All temporary signs authorized by this ordinance shall be removed or brought into compliance with the amended sign regulations in the Zoning Ordinance. • Applications to bring a temporary sign into compliance or replace a temporary sign shall be filed within 45 days of the adoption of the amendments to the sign regulations in the Zoning Ordinance. Motion by Troyer, 2 nd by Krueger to approve the Ordinance Establishing a Temporary Moratorium on Permanent Signs as presented, including the suggested changes. Motion carried. This will be added to the November 29 public hearing agenda.
