Shilts DATE: April 17, 2006 COPIES TO:County Clerk News Media /Notice Board Committee Members Oct.16. 2006 2:12PM No.0215 P. 2 St. Croix County Traffic Safety Commission meeting was held April 19, 2006 at the Sheriff's Department in Hudson at LOAM. Present were: Dennis Johnson, Miles Wittig, Brian Erickson, Greg Helgeson, Buzz Marzolf, Charles Grant, Tim Ramberg, John Shilts and Pam Dabruzzi Meeting was called to order by chairman Shilts, motion was made to adopt agenda, seconded and approved. Motion to accept minutes of February 1, 2006 was made and approved. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Discussion was held reference improvements at Hwy 65 and CTH G and intersections in the Village of Robert on Hwy. 65. Mr. Ramberg stated CTH C has been renamed CTH VV in Somerset. Discussion was held reference the new round -a -bout at Hanley Rd. Very few complaints have been heard by Mr. Helgeson. Chairman shilts discussed the Click -It grant and how the Sheriff's Department will be using it. NEW BUSINESS Mr. Helgeson presented an e-mail he received reference the intersection of Co.Rd E (Houlton Hill) and Hwy. 64. A request was made to make Co.Rd E (Houlton Hill) a one -way street just going East. Not allow traffic to come down hill to get onto Hwy. 64. Mr. Ramberg suggested abandoning (closing off) Co. Rd. E (Houlton Hill) . Mr. Helgeson will respond to the e-mail and advised that at this time the Safety Commission is not recommending any changes. Mr. Ramberg mentioned a serious accident at CTH M and 170 St. last month. Mr. Ramberg stated that the county is looking at possible improvements at this intersection. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND CORRESPONDENCE St. Croix County has had (1) fatality so far in 2006. Statewide as of 04 -18 -06 there has been 177 fatalities. Mr.' Johnson handed out some work zone maps for projects going on throughout the state through the summer. Mr. Johnson went over the new "booster seat law" which goes into effect June 1, 2006. Mr. Johnson went over some proposed legislation issues. O.t.16. 2006 2:13PM No.0215 P. 3 Law of the month for April is the Absolute Law. March law of the month was for drugged drivers.
