MINUTES OF THE ST. CROIX COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE
Meeting of December 19, 2006
The meeting was held in the Government Center and called to order by
Chairman King at 8:30 A.M.
Roll call was taken with King, Grant, Peterson, Rebholz and Hurtgen in
attendance. Others present for the meeting included Tim Ramberg and Rich
Loney.
Ramberg reviewed a number of items of correspondence, including
distributing a copy of the Wisconsin County Highway Association (WCHA)
Informer newsletter. He noted that Pete Kling of the UW Extension
office had met with him to request a contribution to support publication
of a resident's guide for rural residents of the County. This item will
be on the January 9 th agenda for consideration. Ramberg also noted that
the Department has been informed that general transportation aids for
2007 will be in the amount of $1,432,795.73. The budget for 2007
included an estimate of $1,455,000.00.
Ramberg reviewed the proposals received for bridge design services for
the 150 Street Bridge, Town of Warren, and CTH "J" Bridge over the
Kinnickinnic River. A total of six proposals for the projects had been
received. He reviewed the proposals in detail, including various points
to consider not directly related to price. Two of these were ability to
meet timetables, as the Department desires that both proceed to
construction (planned for 2008) at the same time and also environmental
concerns. After discussion, a motion was made by Peterson, seconded by
Rebholz, to award design of the 150 Street Bridge to Humphrey
Engineering for $20,688.00 and to Ayres & Associates for the CTH "J"
structure for $23,350.00. Motion carried.
Adjournment: A motion was made and seconded (Peterson / Hurtgen) to
adjourn at 8:45 A.M. Motion carried.
