The producers at the Baldwin site indicated an interest in a production meeting during the winter.
One has been scheduled for February 1, 2006.

showing progress in reducing the somatic cell count and increasing the premiums paid to them

Janke and his counterparts from four neighboring counties are plarming two series of workshops
on comprehensive planning topics. One series is designed for those places that have already
begun comprehensive planning and will be offered every other month starting in January 2006 at
the UW- Extension Office in Baldwin. The other series is a repeat of the earlier workshop series
that was designed to help communities get started with comprehensive planning. This series will
be offered at a Polk County site.
The Towns of Star Prairie, Emerald, and Warren and the City of Hudson have requested
assistance for pubic opinion surveys on planning.
The first public participation workshop for the Star Prairie's comprehensive plan is scheduled for
the evening of November 8.
Janke described the assistance being offered by UW- Extension to the New Richmond Boundary
Committee to help the group move ahead with Cooperative Boundary Agreements.
The next phases of the Downtown Hudson Parking Study are being implemented. The surveys
of business owners /managers and employees have been mailed. The telephone survey of area
residents is scheduled to begin on November 14.
Small business management counseling was held in Hudson on October 17. The next sessions
are scheduled for November 17.

Pierce, and Polk Counties. The State Commerce Department is offering $1,000 grants to help
start these types of network organizations.
