Chairman Mehls called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. DATE OF NEXT MEETING: June 20, 2005 •- 9:00 a.m. St. Croix County Government Center, Room 1281 FUTURE RADIO SYSTEM IN ST. CROIX COUNTY Interoperability Grant — Kollman explained the County's options with a handout and presentation. This grant is 75% funded and 25% matching. Clark County is the lead county who will submit the grant for the Regional Consortium. A Struemke /Jacobson MOTION was made to support the whole Regional Component Package. The F.C.C. has made it mandatory for the Public Service Sector to become `BF Narrow -Band Compliant by January 1, 2013. Wide -Band will no longer be useable. Narrow -Band gives more Radio Channels. Kollman will compose a memo to be distributed to all municipalities informing them of the upcoming mandate and preparation that will be needed to comply with Narrow -Band, along with a questionnaire concerning their radio communications equipment (Portables, Pagers). Kollman will also get an Engineer's estimated cost of a fee for an advisory decision on the best way to accommodate St. Croix County and municipalities in the transformation of communications. TEMPORARY TELECOMMUNICATOR POSITIONS FOR 2006 A Jacobson/Grant MOTION was made to approve the request for Two Temporary Telecommunicator Positions.
