OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES TO APPLY FOR "FAMILY PRESERVATION
AND SUPPORT SERVICES MONIES"

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, Family preservation in Wisconsin and St. Croix County
is an issue; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County's need for out-of-home placements
for juveniles and related expenses continue to increase yearly; and
WHEREAS, community-based prevention and early intervention
efforts are vital if the social and economic costs associated with
these placements are to be contained as St. Croix County's
population and social problems grow; and
WHEREAS, the State of Wisconsin's Department of Health and
Social Services has indicated tentative intent to offer funding of
approximately $822,000 for prevention planning and implementation
to 10 pilot countries to receive the grant:
Now, therefore, be it resolved that the St. Croix County Board
of Supervisors supports application by St. Croix County Health and
Human Services Department for Family Support/Family Preservation
funding to be utilized for prevention planning and implementation
over a multi-year period as designated by the State and Federal
Governments.
