HomeMy WebLinkAbout3116316U.S. PUBIC LAND SURVEY MONUMENT RECORD TOWN OF CYLON I N S T R U C T 1 0 N S This record shall show the location of the corner and shall include all of the following nine elements (a through i). (a) identify the corner by reference to the U.S. public land survey system. Corner monument restored. T31N,R16W (b) Describe any record evidence, occupational evidence, testimonial evidence or any other material evidence you considered, and whether the monument was found or placed. Record evidence included plat books dated 1897, 1914, 1920, 1929, 1938, 1949, 1965, 1968, 1976, and 1991; a copy of the 19,25-1927 Harding resurvey of the town of Cylon; surveys, on file with the County Surveyor's Office; the 1847 town line surveys by James M. Marsh and Henry Wiltse; and the tax list. Occupation located included a monument on center line 1/2 mile east; the CS 1/16, C1/4, and CN 1/16 fence corners; and a monument 1/2 mile west., all in Section 2-30-17; also the fence running north of the railroad tracks in Sections 36 & 31 in T31N, R17 & 16W. No local residents knew of any survey monuments in the area. The monument was placed and witnessed as shown below. (c) In the plan view drawing below, provide reference ties to at least 4 witness monuments. (Witness monuments shall be made of concrete, natural stone, iron or other equally durable material.) Describe witness monuments. (d) Show a plan view drawing depicting the relevant monuments and reference ties which is sufficient in detail to enable accurate relocation of the corner monument if the corner monument is disturbed. Indicate, north. Show the discrepancy on the plan view drawing under (d), above. Show thee distances between the corner as previously restored or reestablished and (1) the corner as restored or reestablished, and (2) to at least 2 of the witness monuments shown on the drawing in (d), above. Government notes return a distance east from this corner of 43 chains, and west of 40 chains. We measure east to a found 1" iron pipe at the NW Corner of Section 1, T30N, R16W, about 2398.3', plus another 416.6', more or less, to a nail found as the S1/4 Corner of Section 31. We measure west about 217.4 t , more or less, to a mon— ument set as the N1/4 Corner of Section 2, T30N, R16W, plus about 2524.8 more or less, to a monument found as thie S1/4 Corner of Section 36, T31N, R16W. The final position was determined by weighing all collateral evidence which we could find. (f) Was the corner restored through acceptance of (1) an obliterated evidence location, or, (2) a found perpetuated location? (1) An obliterated evidence location per The Manuall, Sections 5-1 thru 5-19. (g&h) Was the corner reestablished through lost corner proportionate methods? If so, show the method, including the directions and distances to other public land survey corners used as evidence or used for proportioning in determining the corner location? No. 1, James E.
