September 21, 2022 Fran B. and I visited this corner and did not find a monument at the corner. There is
no evidence of a pit or mound. There is no history as to how or when this corner was set or by whom. In
the surveyor records there are old Mylar fie sheets of every township that indicate an I.P. at this corner with
3 ties. I found 1 P.K. nail in a PP indicated on said sheets as shown. It is assumed that Ogden Engineering
created the Mylar sheets for the townships sometime in the 1980's. It was common for the county surveyors
office to replace monuments with steel survey mark nails also known as Berntsen nails. I believe that the
survey mark nail was in the some location as the previously noted 1" iron pipe. With several different
surveyors apparently using the same location, and it fitting local occupation I believe the survey mark nail to
be the best location of the original section corner. We had measured into the survey mark nail in the post
and after checking survey, tie, and section distances I set a survey mark nail 1' east of centerline
intersection and established 4 new ties as shown.
Describe any material duscrepency between the location oft restored corner and that
of the corner previously restored or reestablished.
Prior to 2021 all history indicated a 1 " iron pipe at the corner, In 1990 the corner was noted as a county
surveyor's monument, and in 2021 a steel survey mark nail was found at this corner. All surveys appear to
represent the some location as the location I reestablished. S C 0 IVT
